Solutions needed for a sustainable future for all 

To achieve a sustainable future for all, finding solutions to reduce food waste is essential. However, several factors hinder this objective. 

One of the primary issues is disinformation and the need for more awareness among the general population. Many people do not understand the significant consequences of food waste, so they continue to throw away large amounts of edible food. In many cases, excess food is prepared, and when it is not consumed, it is discarded. This results in not only economic losses but also a waste of valuable resources that are used to produce food. 

Another challenge is the need for more political will and interest by public, judicial, and political administrations to promote good food consumption and waste reduction practices. Many governments and institutions need to take more responsibility for ensuring that the public understands the importance of minimizing food waste and adopting sustainable food practices. 

However, reducing food loss and waste is crucial for increasing food availability and making it more affordable for consumers. By reducing waste, we can maximize the use of existing food resources without putting additional pressure on natural resources or increasing production. This will help address hunger and food insecurity and contribute to achieving a sustainable future for all.   

How TS works  

At Taco Share (TS), our mission is to reduce food waste and alleviate hunger through a collaborative platform that promotes food sharing and repurposing. We achieve this by conducting awareness campaigns and building a culture of food sharing in the community. 

One of our key initiatives is the "Sharing Food Hermosillo" group, which allows people to offer food they may not be able to consume, and anyone in need can request food, regardless of their background or situation. Since the group's launch, we have seen tremendous participation from the community, with more than 300 people joining in less than a month. This shows the potential of our platform in reducing food waste and addressing food insecurity in the community. 

In addition, we collaborate with local entrepreneurs, businesses, and other partners to reduce food waste in the supply chain and redirect surplus food to those in need. Our platform provides a convenient way for companies to donate surplus food and for individuals to find and use food resources that would otherwise go to waste. 

Our efforts aim to build a more sustainable and equitable food system where everyone can access safe, healthy, and affordable food. By creating a culture of food sharing and waste reduction, we can significantly reduce hunger and create a more sustainable future for all. 

By donating the food through TS

Through Taco Share (TS), we aim to create a more sustainable and equitable food system by reducing food waste and addressing food insecurity in the community. By donating surplus food through our platform, we can achieve several benefits: 

• First, surplus food donations can be repurposed to create additional job opportunities in the food industry. By reducing waste and increasing the availability of food resources, we can help create a more robust and inclusive food economy. 

• Second, food donations can improve the health and well-being of individuals who may not have access to enough nutritious food. This can significantly impact their overall health outcomes and quality of life. 

• Finally, we can build a more sustainable future for all by reducing food waste and promoting responsible consumption habits. This involves reducing food waste and promoting sustainable agriculture practices, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and preserving natural resources for future generations.
